Sources can be downloaded from OpenAlchemy SVN Repository
svn co https://www.openalchemy.org/svn/openalchemy-core
This will get the required packages for building and installting
OpenAlchemy for X86. Executing openalchemy-core/build_alchemycore.sh
will install and setup the required environment.

Khatha is a uniquely Indian way of planning your family's budget, finances and your taxes. Modelled on the little chits we all like to scribble on, Khatha is a powerful combination of Amida's Paper program and a spreadsheet.
Khatha is like a sheet of paper with columns and rows that lays out everything about transactions for you to examine. It shows all of the costs, income, taxes, etc. on a single screen for you to look at when planning, or making a decision. The data can then be "added up" by a formula to give a sum, total, percentage etc.

Paper is the 21st century update of a technology that has been with man for centuries: pen and paper. It allows you to write notes and letters (of an unlimited number of pages) in your handwriting and in your own language.
You can use Amida's Paper for just about anything that you would use regular paper for: doodle on it (using a stylus / pen), express yourself in your language and draw funny pictures. Even send it by mail (well, email).

Notebook allows you to type notes and letters in English. It is the counterpart of Bhasha Notebook, using which you can type notes in Kannada and Hindi.
As you may know, Amida has the Paper feature which allows you to take notes in your own handwriting, in your language. However, there are times when you need to type out formal notes - such as if minutes of a meeting have to be sent out to clients and other important people. You could you Amida's Notebook then.

Bhasha Notebook allows you to type notes and letters in Hindi and Kannada. It is the counterpart of Notebook, using which you can type notes in English.
Though it is much more natural to write in your own handwriting (using Amida's Paper), there are times when notes and letters have to be formal. Such as when writing a memo to your boss or sending a wedding invitation to a VIP. Amida's Bhasha Notebook is for such occasions.
